Music teacher who paints pictures of unearthly cosmic energy (Rinkos Aikštė)

Female energy is one of the strongest forces on earth, and it cannot come from nothing. This enormous force is created by small everyday things, basic communication, and the environment that surrounds us. It is said that teachers see more than others because their goal is to make the world more beautiful, colorful, and happier. Educator Vaida Prušinskienė takes this saying to a new level, where teaching intersects with personal creativity. She not only inspires her students through music, but also finds a way to turn the silent world of painting into a powerful emotional charge. Her huge canvases become a response to her disciplined pedagogical life. This is a story about two languages of the soul – one speaking through octaves, the other through brushstrokes. My interlocutor is Vaida Prušinskienė from Kėdainiai, a music teacher and painter. Is art only for the sensitive and creative? Why do artists often find themselves on the sidelines, misunderstood by those around them, even called weirdos? Is art for Vaida merely an aesthetic reflection, or perhaps a secret key that opens the gates to a different, renewed existence that few are prepared for?

In music – for many years, but in art – just a newcomer

I imagine a young, blonde girl who, after graduating from the Panevėžys Conservatory, successfully obtained a higher education diploma from Šiauliai University. After completing her studies, Vaida looked almost the same as her students at Kėdainiai Mikalojus Daukša Secondary School, where she took her first steps in her teaching career in 1995. It was here that, over the course of ten years, she inspired her students to love art, opening the door to a musical world full of rhythm and melody. This experience allowed her to spread her wings and step into the vast creative spaces that soon opened up before her.

"I have been involved in music for many years, but I am a newcomer to art," Vaida begins the conversation. "Music is inseparable from me; it is the background, because you cannot paint in silence. When I paint in the garden in summer, there is still background noise, birds chirping, the wind, something that I hear with my ears," she says...
